Notes

  • Desonta Bradford is ETSU's first player of the year since Zakee Wadood was selected by both the coaches and media in 2003-04. Fletcher Magee is Wofford's first player of the year since Karl Cochran took the honor from both the media and coaches in 2014-15.
  • Bo Hodges is the first ETSU player to earn freshman of the year honors since Tim Smith was honored by both the coaches and media in 2002-03. Bubba Parham's selection by the media is VMI's first since Jason Conley was honored by both organizations in 2001-02. Parham is also the Keydets' first all-freshman selection since then.
  • James Dickey is UNCG's first-ever winner of the defensive player of the year award.
  • Wes Miller's coach of the year selection is his second. He was also honored by the media in 2011-12, when he led the Spartans to the North Division title after taking over as interim coach in December 2011.
  • Devin Sibley and Fletcher Magee are first-team selections for the second straight season.
  • Zane Najdawi is The Citadel's first first-team selection since Ashton Moore in 2014-15.
  • Nine of the 10 league teams were represented on either the all-conference or all-freshman teams.
  • Due to a tie in the voting, there are six members on the media's second team.
