SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford guard Fletcher Magee has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all games played Feb. 7-13. Magee averaged 31.0 points per game in the Terriers’ two contests on the week.
The sophomore from Orlando, Florida, played 56 of a possible 60 minutes in Wofford’s epic 131-127, four-overtime win over Samford on Thursday, scoring a career-high 36 points, 26 of which came in overtime. Magee hit five 3-pointers in the contest, all in extra time, and was a perfect 13-for-13 from the free-throw line. He also added six rebounds, five assists and a crucial blocked shot.
In a 73-65 loss to Chattanooga on Saturday, Magee scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed three rebounds. He was 10-for-19 from the floor.
For the week, Magee was 8-for-24 from 3-point range (33.3 percent) and 16-for-17 from the free-throw line (94.1 percent). He has scored in double figures in all 27 of Wofford’s games on the season and needs just 51 points to reach 1,000 for his career in just his second collegiate season.
