Notes

  • Amanda Thompson is Mercer’s fifth consecutive player of the year as voted on by the coaches, while Calloway is Mercer’s fifth consecutive player of the year by the media.
  • Eboni Williams, the coaches’ freshman of the year, is Chattanooga’s first freshman of the year since Heather Dykes won the award in 1998-99. Jewel Smalls, the media’s pick for freshman of the year, is Western Carolina’s first freshman of the year since Lauren Powell in 2005-06.
  • Erica Haynes-Overton repeats as defensive player of the year. Chattanooga’s Alicia Payne (2014-15, 2015-16) was the last to win the award in back-to-back seasons.
  • Susie Gardner’s coach of the year honor is her second consecutive and third in the last four seasons. She is the first coach to repeat since Appalachian State’s Darcie Vincent was honored in 2009-10 and 2010-11.
  • Calloway is a first-team selection for the second straight season.
  • Wanink, who finished the season as the conference’s leader in scoring, is Wofford’s first first-team selection since Jenny Nett in 2001-02.
  • Since joining the league in 2014, Mercer has had atleast one member on the all-conference first-team each year.
  • The coaches elected to do an all-defensive team in place of a third team all-conference squad
  • Seven of the eight league teams were represented on either the coaches' all-conference or all-freshman teams, while all eight were represented by the media.
  • Due to a tie in the voting, there are six members on the coaches’ second team.
