ETSU's Ezell, Roan Scholar to speak at IDEAcademy

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. –  Brittney Ezell, head coach of East Tennessee State University women’s basketball, and Roan Scholar Sydney Ross have been selected to speak at the 2017 IDEAcademy hosted by Eastman and ETSU’s College of Business of Technology.

IDEAcademy is a series of free leadership development events being offered Sept. 11 and 12. The first of two satellites events will be held at the Millennium Center on Monday, Sept. 11, from 9-11 a.m., followed by a second event at the Bristol Train Station from 3:30-5:30 p.m. The main event will be held Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Eastman’s Toy F. Reid Employee Center from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and will feature keynote speaker Dr. Clayton Christensen, the Kim B. Clark Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School. Christensen is a best-selling author of nine books and more than 100 articles and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Tribeca Films Festival.

IDEAcademy hosts include David A. Golden, vice chairman of the ETSU Board of Trustees as well as senior vice president, chief legal & sustainability officer, and corporate secretary at Eastman, Dr. Brian Noland, ETSU president, and Dr. Dennis Depew, dean of ETSU’s College of Business and Technology.

Ezell, the eighth head coach of ETSU women’s basketball program, will speak at the main IDEAcademy event Sept. 12. Her presentation is titled “Now recruiting: soft skills and character.”

Ross, an ETSU sophomore and anthropology major in the Roan Scholars Program, will also speak Sept. 12. Her presentation is titled “Attitude vs. Altitude.”
