SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford volleyball player Catie Cronister has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Sept. 4-10.
On the court, Cronister recorded the first two triple-doubles in Wofford volleyball history over the weekend and earned Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors. Cronister posted impressive numbers in 15 sets played, totaling 51 kills, 65 digs and 34 assists while playing multiple positions in the lineup. The senior from Chicago, Illinois, opened the week with 22 kills, 12 digs and 11 assists against Appalachian State and recorded 11 kills, 23 digs and 16 assists against UNCW. Cronister closed the weekend with 17 kills and 14 digs in the Terriers' three-set win over North Carolina Central.
A double major in biology and math, Cronister holds a 3.96 grade point average.
Cronister and the Terriers return to the court on Wednesday for their home opener against Presbyterian at 7 p.m.
