SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer football player Tee Mitchell has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Oct. 18-24, the league office announced Wednesday.
Mitchell, a junior from Jacksonville, Florida, rushed for a game-high 93 yards against Furman on Saturday. Mitchell averaged 7.8 yards per rush and added a touchdown, marking his fifth straight game in which he has scored.
Mitchell, who holds a 3.684 grade point average, is an international business major and a 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-American.
Also nominated for SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week: Luke Parker (ETSU men’s soccer) and Andy Schumpert (Furman football).
