SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford volleyball player Catie Cronister has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Nov. 8-14, the league office announced Wednesday.
Cronister, a sophomore from Chicago, Illinois, helped lead the Terriers to a pair of victories over Chattanooga and ETSU, totaling 43 kills, 13 digs and five blocks. On Tuesday, Cronister was named Southern Conference Co-Player of the Year with UNCG’s Ashley Muench.
Cronister led Wofford to a 20-10 regular season record, going 10-6 in conference play. Cronister averaged a SoCon-best 4.55 kills per set and set the program’s single-season kills record at 505.
Cronister, who is undeclared, holds a perfect 4.0 grade point average. The Wofford Terriers will begin the SoCon Volleyball Championship in Cullowhee, North Carolina, on Friday, facing the No. 5-seeded Samford Bulldogs.
