SPARTANBURG, S.C. – University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s football player Bryce Nunnelly has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Sept. 5-11.
The sophomore wide receiver threw the game-winning 2-point conversation and had 10 catches for 268 yards and two touchdowns in the Moc’s 29-28 overtime win at The Citadel. Nunnelly’s 76-yard touchdown in the first quarter tied him for the 17th longest in school history and his second longest one of the season. He had UTC’s most receiving yards in a game since Joel Bradford’s school-record (274) in 2010 and the most catches in a game since Xavier Borishade (10) in 2015. Nunnelly was also named the STATS FCS National Offensive Player of the Week.
A mechanical engineering major, Nunnelly holds a 3.84 grade point average.
UTC is set to continue nonconference play as it travels to Martin, Tennessee, to take on UT Martin on Saturday.
