
Appalachian
State a Unanimous #1 in FCS Coaches Poll
SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- Two-time defending national
champion Appalachian State received all first-place votes for the second week
in a row of the Coaches Football
Championship Subdivision (FCS) poll. The Mountaineers beat Lenior-Rhyne 48-7 to
remain undefeated.
North Dakota State,
Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, Youngstown State, James Madison, McNeese
State and Wofford round out the rest of the top 10.
FCS Coaches Poll is
based exclusively on a voting panel of head coaches in the FCS under the
cooperation of the Collegiate Commissioners Association (CCA) and the American
Football Coaches Association (AFCA).
The poll is available
on the newly-created FCS web page that features the
poll, conference scores and standings, and features on FCS programs and
players. The Southern Conference will oversee the poll and maintain the web
site.
